Use standard same size box when possible, so that they will stack easier and more efficiently.
Try to store heavier boxes on bottom.
Place all furniture on wooden pallets or 2'x 4's, to keep off concrete and provide air circulation between the furniture and floor.
Appliances should be cleaned and free of any debris inside of them; the door can be left ajar to allow air circulation.
